The following is our weekly feature in which we highlight the top local stories in our area, Pattaya and Chonburi, from the past week. The number of stories differs from week to week.

These are chosen and curated by our editorial team and are designed for our readers to get a quick “catch-up” of important stories they may have missed. We publish many stories daily and it is easy to lose track of important events or changes in our area. We do national recaps in a separate article, this is only the top local stories in our area and province.

They are in no particular order of importance but roughly in order of publishing. These are from Sunday, February 27th, 2022, to Saturday, March 5th, 2022.

1.  Unidentified foreign man found dead on the beach at Koh Larn

Unfortunately, despite being asked, law enforcement has not released any more details about this case to the public, citing an ongoing investigation.

2.  Underwear thief on the loose in Bangsaen, Chinese ex-pat was later caught and arrested

This dominated our social media discussion for much of the week. The thief was a Chinese ex-pat, according to Saensuk Police.

3.  Annual temple fair currently running in Pattaya area

Today, March 9th is the last day!

4.  End the early closing time of 11:00 P.M. for alcohol-serving venues, allow Songkran say Pattaya business leaders, 

The often delayed meeting on Songkran will happen on March 18th in Bangkok, with the Thai Prime Minister saying it will happen, but with rules. As for later closing times and legally opening entertainment venues, still no word.

5.  Pattaya tourism leaders say Test and Go must go, joining the chorus of tourism and business leaders across Thailand

Still no answer or word from the Thai government, however.

6.  Pattaya Mayor says monorail project will continue, “lots” of interest from foreign investors

Who exactly the foreign investors were, however, was not stated, leading to “lots” of discussion on our social media channels.
