1. Pattaya Police continue crackdown on illegal gambling
Last week saw several major crackdowns on illegal gambling, including an alleged online casino and, in what drew a lot of bemused comments on our social media, crane machine games geared towards kids.

2. Six foreign nationals rescued by Royal Thai Navy after boat problems near Koh Khram
This was a major story last week in which six foreign nationals, the majority from Belgium, were rescued after running into boat problems near Koh Khram in Sattahip. Luckily, there were no injuries.

3. Pattaya introduces a five-year strategy to be the “tourism city of the future”
This also drew a lot of bemused comments.

4. Pattaya studying a proposal to replace taxis with electric vehicles
This is also part of the five-year strategy to make the city a “tourism city of the future”.
5. Baby elephant recovering after suffering from ten bullet wounds, trap wounds, believed to be from illegal poachers
Luckily, the baby elephant is doing well according to Nong Nooch Garden officials after being rescued from a trap in Chanthaburi last week.
