Feature: Top local stories in Pattaya from last week-Flooding hits Pattaya, vaccination programs continue

Hello Pattaya News Readers and Supporters!

The following is our weekly feature in which we highlight the top local stories in our area, Pattaya and Chonburi, for the past week. The number of stories differs from week to week.

These are chosen and curated by our editorial team and are designed for our readers to get a quick “catch-up” of important stories they may have missed. We publish many stories daily and it is easy to lose track of important events or changes in our area. We do national recaps in a separate article, this is only the top local stories in our area and province.

They are in no particular order of importance but roughly in order of publishing. These are from Sunday, August 22nd, 2021, to Saturday, August 28th, 2021.

Let’s get started and see what the top local stories were!

1. Eligible foreigners in Pattaya get Pfizer Covid –19 vaccines as the rollout continues

Many local foreign residents in Pattaya have begun to get their own Covid-19 vaccines recently, with another major campaign taking place last week. No, not everyone is eligible yet, and not everyone who wants one can get one, but it is a start.  There was also ample praise for the organization and efficiency of those working at the vaccination areas online.

2. What happened to our daily Chonburi Covid-19 timelines?

In case you missed it…

3. Heavy rains and flooding paralyze Pattaya roads, even as the flood management project continues

The heavy floods last week, and regular rains following it, continue to be a recent major story.

4. Pattaya residents make the best out of flooded streets during recent rains, more rain coming

Speaking of flooded streets….

That is all for last week! It wasn’t the busiest week for local news, although rain and sporadic flooding continue this week as does a local vaccination program for Covid-19. Stay safe!
