Khao Kheow Zoo in Sri Racha to Celebrate the 58th Birthday of Mother Jasmine, Thailand’s Oldest Hippo

The Khao Kheow Open Zoo is inviting people to join Mother Jasmine’s birthday celebration on September 8th, 2023.

The manager of the Khao Kheow Open Zoo Mr. Taewin Rattanawongsawat told the Pattaya News that the zoo will hold the birthday event to celebrate the 58th birthday of Mother Jasmine (Mae Mali) who is the oldest hippo in Thailand.

There will be a huge fruit cake with her favorite watermelons, carrots, potatoes, and dragon fruits. Children and parents are being invited to join her birthday celebration with many games and gifts for children.

For people who have the same birthday as Mother Jasmine on September 8th they will receive special gifts.

Mother Jasmine is originally from the Tilburg Zoo in the Netherlands. She was only one year old when she arrived in Thailand 56 years ago in 1967. She was moved from Dusit Zoo to the Khao Kheow Open Zoo five years ago on December 18th, 2018.
