Pattaya Youngsters Beat 18-Year-Old Man for Asking Them to Quiet Down

Pattaya —

A group of younger teenagers beat an 18-year-old man on Pattaya Beach after he asked them to quiet down.

The group of suspects left the beach prior to the police’s arrival. The incident was reported at half an hour past midnight on Thursday, July 6th, at Pattaya Beach.

The police arrived at the scene and saw the victim, 18-year-old Mr. Shinawatra Nilkasem, lying on a beachmat surrounded by other beachgoers who were helping him. He was transferred to Banglamung Hospital to undergo medical treatment.

According to the victim’s unidentified friends, Shinawatra was beaten by a group of younger teenagers after he politely told them to lower their voices as he was sitting nearby on Pattaya Beach and being bothered. The group became seemingly angered at Shinawatra’s warning before they briefly left the beach only to return with 10 other teens. The group then beat Shinawatra with their motorbike helmets.

Some of them also made a gesture that they had a firearm to threaten others not to intervene, the victim’s friends added. They said the group after beating Shinawatra to a pulp fled the area on Beach Road.

Pattaya police were examining CCTV cameras to identify the suspects.

This isn’t the first public assault on Pattaya Beach recently.

Earlier this year, a man threatened and assaulted his former girlfriend on the beach as seen here.

There have also been multiple altercations between Thai youth at the nearby Bali Hai Pier.

Some critics of the recent altercations have suggested closing times for the skatepark after dark, it is unclear if this same proposal would ever be considered for the Beach and unlikely as well notes TPN Media.
