Teenager Seriously Injured after Fighting at Bali Hai Pier Skatepark in Pattaya

Pattaya –

A teenager has sustained severe injuries after fighting with more than 20 other teenagers at the Bali Hai Pier in Pattaya.

The Pattaya City Police were notified of the incident at 1:00 A.M. on Saturday (June 24th) at the skateboard area at the Bali Hai Pier, South Pattaya.

Police, emergency responders and the Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find more than 20 teenagers aged around 14 to 17. An unidentified male teenager was found lying on the ground with blood coming from his mouth. He had also sustained head injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital.

A 15 year old female teenager whose name was withheld due to her age told police that they had previously joined a concert on Pàttaya Beach. Following the concert her friends agreed to meet with their enemies at the skatepark over a disagreement about another girl. The meeting turned into a physical altercation when about 20 teenagers aged from 15 to 20 years old arrived with their enemies. They attacked each other and injured her friend before police arrived.

Police asked the injured friend to contact his relatives and to file a report to police so they can check CCTV footage to find the attackers.

This is not the first incident at the pier skateboard park as just recently another major fight between over a dozen teens took place as we covered here. Two people were injured in that confrontation.

Some local residents have been calling on Thai media to shut the Bali Hai skatepark at dark every night, around 7PM, to discourage problems and teenagers using it to meet and handle private disputes.
