Pattaya Woman Attacked by Jealous Boyfriend Armed With Gun on Pattaya Beach

Pattaya —

A Thai woman has been attacked by her gun-wielding boyfriend on Pattaya Beach early this morning. The suspect reportedly tried to open fire at people but fortunately hurt nobody as his weapon was jammed.

The victim, 20-year-old Ms. Pornchalita Prakaisri, suffered a laceration on her forehead, a fractured nose, and a broken finger on her right hand. She was assisted by Sawang Boriboon rescuers and Pattaya Police at 4 AM this morning, March 13th, after she was attacked by her unidentified boyfriend, Pornchalita’s friends told The Pattaya News.

The victim was transported from Pattaya Beach to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Her friends, who asked not to disclose their identities, stated that Pornchalita and they were hanging out on the beach when they were approached by the victim’s boyfriend and 4-5 other men.

The boyfriend reportedly threatened the woman’s friends not to intervene before he pulled out his pistol and smashed his girlfriend in the face with the gun. When Pornchalita’s friends then attempted to stop the violence, the gun-wielding man reportedly tried to shoot at them but fortunately, the gun was jammed.

The frustrated boyfriend and his cohorts then fled on their motorbikes, but before they left the scene, they managed to fire one bullet round at the sky, the victim’s friends reported.

According to Pornchalita’s statement, she and the suspect had been engaged in a long-standing argument and had been living separately. The suspect coincidentally encountered her at the beach and attempted to resume the argument before becoming angry and ultimately injuring her.

The incident caused panic among both foreign and Thai beachgoers as the area was still crowded at the time of the shooting, and the fact that the police station was located nearby.

Pattaya Police collected one bullet shell at the incident site as evidence and are reviewing CCTV footage to capture the culprit, who they did not immediately identify citing an ongoing investigation.
