One More Missing Royal Thai Navy Sailor Found Deceased, Seven Still Missing, Death Toll Rises to 22

Prachuap Khiri Khan –

One more body of a navy officer who had gone missing was found. Seven of them are still missing and the death toll rose to 22.

Our first previous story:

A Royal Thai Navy ship capsized off of the Bang Saphan district. 73 crew members have been rescued while approximately 33 are still in the sea.

Now for the update:

The Royal Thai Navy has announced this morning (December 28th) at 11:30 A.M. they found one more body near the Samet Island in Chumphon. The body is now being examined for positive identification.

This brings the total death toll to 22, while 7 are still missing. 20 of the 22 are positively identified as crewmen of the HTMS Sukhothai. Search and rescue efforts are underway.
