Pattaya celebrates International Yoga Day with the Indian Community of Pattaya

Pattaya, Thailand-

Earlier this week the Indian Community of Pattaya, in partnership with Indo Thai news, celebrated International Yoga Day on Bali Hai Pier with a special socially distanced yoga session with professional instructors from Bangkok.

The event was organized in cooperation with Pattaya City Hall authorities and Pattaya Deputy Mayor Ronnakit Ekkasing.

Just under 50 Thai nationals and Indian ex-pats attended the event, which was performed under Covid-19 restrictions including social distancing, temperature checks, mask-wearing, and other precautions.

TPN media had previously announced the yoga event, which took place over two separate days, here. The actual International Yoga Day, however, was Monday, June 21st, 2021 which is where the photos are taken from.

The Indian Community of Pattaya celebrated the Holi festival as well in late March, just before the current Covid-19 outbreak in Thailand, and has been stepping up their work with the local community in Pattaya during these difficult times.

The Indian Community of Pattaya, according to a statement by member Naresh Chander, is devoted to assisting and helping all Indian nationals in Pattaya and Thailand and has provided significant assistance for Indians both before and during Covid-19, especially those who may have run into unforeseen problems. The organization expresses unity, peace, and love for each other as human beings.

The Maa Kali temple is the home of the Indian Community of Pattaya and hosts a large local diverse Hindu population who help take care of the temple and its grounds, which is a beautiful “hidden gem” in Pattaya. Here is a good map to find the temple in Pattaya if you wish to visit yourself.
