Pattaya City to Celebrate Pride Month with Massive Parade at Jomtien Beach

Pattaya —

Pattaya City is preparing to celebrate Pride Month with a massive Pride parade on June 8th.

Organized by the Pattaya City Administration and the SWING Foundation, this year’s Pride event under the theme “Pattaya Community Pride 2024” marks the third edition of the celebration. The event aims to promote tourism, enhance Pattaya’s image, and advocate for human rights, diversity, and equality for LGBTQ+ people.

According to the city’s announcement, the event will feature a colorful carnival-style parade with various performances and activities from participating organizations taking place on Jomtien Beach. Three stages will be set up, including one at Dongtan Curve, a sub-stage in the middle of Soi Jomtien Complex, and a mini stage in front of Soda Massage.

A highlight of the event will be the grand parade, which will start from the Colosseum theater on Thep Prasit Road and proceed towards the main stage at Dongtan Curve for the official opening ceremony. Businesses, government agencies, residents, and tourists are all invited to participate in the parade to showcase support for LGBTQ+ rights and Thailand’s equal marriage legalization.

To ensure a smooth and safe experience for all attendees, traffic restrictions will be implemented on Thep Prasit Road, with the left lane facing the Colosseum closed and the right lane open to regular traffic. The parade will commence at 4:00 PM.
