At 2:06 AM, on May 4th, 2024, Pattaya City police captured a Thai man who allegedly threatened his girlfriend with a firearm and opened fire at the sky on Pattaya Beach on March 13th.
The incident caused panic among both foreign and Thai beachgoers as the area was still crowded at the time of the shooting, and the fact that the police station was located nearby.
According to the police report, the suspect hid with his friends in Sam Phran, Nakhon Pathom. Upon further police investigation, police were able to track down the suspect after three days of surveillance. The suspect reportedly confessed his wrongdoings according to the arrest warrant.
Worakarn allegedly sold the firearm used to commit the crimes to an unidentified person for money to escape the police pursuit.
Initially, Worakarn would face felony charges including intentional murder, possession of a firearm without legal permission, carrying a firearm in public areas without permission, and physical assault on another person.
