Chinese Man in Pattaya Arrested for Illegally Entering Thailand and Working as Guide

A Chinese man was was arrested in Pattaya on April 8th, 2024, for entering Thailand illegally and working as a guide.

The man, identified as Mr. Ke Pan, 36, was found sitting in a car with his windows down. According to arresting officers, Mr. Ke appeared suspicious when he saw their car driving by and tried to drive away.

The police stopped Mr. Ke and asked him for his passport. He was unable to produce any documentation, so he was taken to the Chonburi Immigration Office. No illegal items were found in his car.

According to the police, the immigration database revealed that Mr. Ke had been blacklisted from entering Thailand on May 18th, 2018. He had been caught working illegally as a vendor in the country at the time.

Mr. Ke told the police that he had paid a human trafficker 20,000 baht to help him enter Thailand illegally. He narrated that he flew from China to Vietnam and snuck into Thailand through a natural channel in Sa Kaeo where he then took a minivan to Pattaya. He confessed that he had come to Thailand to study Thai and work as a tour guide in Pattaya for about a month.

Mr. Ke was charged with entering Thailand illegally and working without a permit. Immigration officers are proceeding with the man’s deportation back to China.
