Man Arrested for Attempting to Stab Municipality Officer in Pattaya

Pattaya —

A Thai man in Pattaya was arrested around midnight on Thursday, March 28th, for erratic behavior and trying to stab a municipality officer.

The Pattaya City Special Affairs Radio Center was notified of the man at 00:06 AM and immediately dispatched officers to the scene at the flyover on Sukhumvit Road at the entrance of the Father Ray Foundation.

Upon arrival, officers found a Thai man, whose name could not be immediately identified, acting erratically and speaking incoherently. The man in his 30s or 40s was wearing a football shirt and shorts. During an attempt to apprehend him, it was reported that he tried to stab an officer with a sharp weapon. He was then taken to the Pattaya Police Station to calm down.

According to Special Affairs Officer Kittiphan Bunchat, he received a call from concerned citizens reporting that the man was attempting to attack random people on the street. Mr. Bunchat nearly got stabbed by the man but managed to dodge the attack.

The suspect is expected to face charges related to his actions.

Just a few days ago another erratic Thai man was arrested in Jomtien for similar behaviour, walking around with several sharp weapons and threatening tourists, as we reported here.
