Pattaya —
Pattaya authorities apprehended a Thai man wielding a large knife on Sunday, March 24th, after he posed a public safety threat in Soi Thap Phraya 12 near Pattaya Park.
At noon, the Pattaya Police Station received a report of a disheveled man brandishing a large knife and acting erratically. Authorities immediately went to the mentioned location and also brought with them necessary riot gear.
Upon arrival, authorities encountered a shirtless man with a large knife in his hand. As the man noticed the approaching police, he attempted to flee across the road. However, officers swiftly intercepted him in a nearby alley beside a hotel. By using restraining equipment, they successfully subdued and secured him.
The man was later identified as Mr. Veerasak B., a 38-year-old resident of Phichit province. Following his apprehension, officers calmed Mr. Veerasak down and took him into custody at the Pattaya Police Station, where they documented his wrongdoings.
Pattaya police subsequently revealed that Mr. Veerasak resided in an abandoned building in Soi Thap Phraya 12. They believed that his sudden erratic behaviors might be caused by substance abuse.
