Sri Racha —

Mr. Chaiphon Paephiromrat, Deputy Governor of Chonburi province, visited Sri Racha district on March 20th to inspect flood-hit areas and distribute relief bags to residents affected by recent flooding.

The visit follows recent disastrous flooding in Sri Racha in which several areas were affected.

Mr. Chaiphon was accompanied by district and provincial officials, including Mr. Nopparat Sriprom, the Sri Racha District Chief, and Mr. Decha Ruen-orn, the Head of the Office of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Chonburi Province.

The deputy governor visited two locations: The Plus-Na Phrao Village, a flood-prone residential area, and the vicinity of Pinthong 1 Industrial Estate, which has experienced drainage problems for some time.

Following the inspections, Mr. Chaiphon ordered relevant officials to expedite measures to alleviate flooding and assist affected residents. Meanwhile, Sri Racha District Chief Mr. Nopparat outlined plans to tackle future flooding, including constructing more drainage pipes in flood-prone areas to divert water into the public canal.

The officials also distributed relief bags, containing necessary items, to affected residents and launched a big-cleaning program to clean up the flood debris around the district.

With the installation of more drainage pipes, these measures aim to reduce flooding in the long run, Mr. Nopparat said.
