Pattaya —

Pattaya City has successfully established swimming zones on Tawaen Beach, a popular tourist destination on Koh Larn, to enhance the safety of both Thai and international tourists.

The project involved the removal of supporting pillars and damaged pontoons, and the placement of swimming buoys to create safe swimming areas for the growing number of visitors who frequent Tawaen Beach.

While the swimming zones are now operational, Pattaya City acknowledges the ongoing challenge of managing the high volume of speedboat traffic transporting tourists between Pattaya and Koh Larn. The congestion can lead to safety concerns, the city reported.

To address this challenge, Pattaya City is currently organizing schedules for speedboats to enter and leave the designated areas more efficiently and safely. This will ensure the quick transportation of tourists and minimize congestion near the swimming zones. Speedboats are not required to immediately depart the specified areas after completing tourist transfers.

Pattaya City urges all visitors and tourists enjoying Tawaen Beach to strictly use the designated swimming zones for their water activities. These areas not only offer better safety measures, such as the presence of lifeguards, but also business operators looking after the zones to prevent undesired incidents.
