A tragic motorcycle accident on Jomtien Second Road in Pattaya City, Chonburi province, claimed the lives of two individuals early Monday morning.
According to Pol Lt Kamon Apgarun, the investigating officer at the Pattaya Police Station, emergency personnel were alerted to the accident at approximately 4:00 AM on February 12nd, 2024. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found two severely injured individuals and immediately initiated CPR attempts. Sadly, both victims succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased were identified as Mr. Tangpanithan Phumiphan, 32-years-old, and Mr. Boonma Nissadajon, 46-years-old. Both men were found near their overturned Yamaha NMax motorcycle, which displayed visible skid marks.
Authorities secured the scene and interviewed the victims’ friend and eyewitness, Mr. Watcharawit Chiangmuang, 17-years-old. He stated that the victims and him were leaving Jomtien Beach when the victims, who were traveling at high speed, suddenly lost control at a curve on Jomtien Second Road and collided with a tree.
A thorough investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
This particular curve, notes TPN media, and section of road has claimed many lives, with a Cambodian man dying not far from today’s accident just a few days prior as we reported here.
Many residents have asked the city for further action in this area to stop racing and accidents, with various suggestions from installing more warning signs to even implementing speed bumps suggested.
