Pattaya —
Pattaya deputy mayor vowed to complete road surface improvements in North Pattaya in May of 2024.
Mr. Manoch Nongyai, the deputy mayor, visited ongoing construction at the Sukhumvit Road-North Pattaya intersection yesterday, January 23rd, to check on the project’s progress.
The Sukhumvit Road-North Pattaya intersection is currently undergoing a comprehensive road surface improvement project. The initiative aims to improve road efficiency and alleviate congestion, ensuring a smoother traffic flow for residents and tourists alike.
The left side of the road, from the Caltex gas station to Sirisa 12 Village, is undergoing concrete resurfacing to address road surface issues. Construction has already also begun at the Wat Boonkanjanaram and Chaiyapruek intersections.
Mr. Manoch said city authorities have collaborated with traffic police to optimize traffic light timing for vehicles heading straight and turning right onto North Pattaya Road. This will prioritize an efficient traffic flow during peak hours.
Mr. Manoch said the entire development is expected to be completed in May.
