Vacharaesorn Vivacharawongse, the second-eldest son of His Royal Majesty the King of Thailand, visited the Nong Nooch Garden in the Pattaya area on Saturday, December 9th.
The visit, while not officially announced, attracted public attention as onlookers gathered to take photos with the king’s son who is very down to earth.
Mr. Vacharaesorn, who has been back in Thailand for five days, spent the day exploring the expansive 1,700-rai garden accompanied by Kampon Tansajja, the owner of the famous tropical garden. Their tour began with a performance showcasing the intelligence and skill of elephants at the garden.
Following the show, the group boarded a tram for a comprehensive tour of the Nong Nooch Gardens, taking in the diverse array of plant species and fascinating sculptures and life-size statues of various animals.
Mr. Vacharaesorn expressed particular interest in the museum exhibits housed within the garden. The car museum, the Thai puppetry museum, and the Buddha museum captivated his attention.
Demonstrating his love for plants, Mr. Vacharaesorn climbed the stairs to Khao Bandai Krit to plant an Indian shorea robusta. The hill area serves as a unique tourism destination dedicated to the preservation of the plant species found at the Nong Nooch Gardens.
Mr. Vacharaesorn is the second-eldest son of His Royal Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua (Rama X). He has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in law from the Stetson University College of Law in the United States. He has lived in New York for 27 years and has begun to visit Thailand again this past year after a long absence.
