On November 28th, 2023, the Thai Meteorological Department predicted weather in the next 24 hours, stating that a mid-level high-pressure system or a cold air mass will cover the upper parts of Thailand and the South China Sea. This pattern is expected to cause a temperature drop in these areas.
The northeastern and eastern regions will experience strong winds. The northeast monsoon will cover the lower Gulf of Thailand and the lower southern Thailand, as a result, there will be relatively strong winds.
Residents in the upper parts of Thailand are advised to take care of their health due to rapidly changing weather conditions.
Moreover, the weather in the lower northeastern part covering the lower Gulf of Thailand and the lower southern region is relatively strong, coupled with a low-pressure area that covers Malaysia and the Malacca Strait. This pattern is expected to result in heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas of the lower southern region.
The wind and waves in the lower Gulf of Thailand are moderately strong, reaching 2-3 meters. Areas with rain and thunderstorms could experience waves higher than 3 meters.
Residents in the lower southern region should be cautious of the dangers posed by heavy rainfall and accumulated rain, which could lead to flash floods, especially in areas near flowing water and low-lying areas. Small boats in the lower Gulf of Thailand are advised to remain docked during this time.
