The male foreigner, who asked to keep his identity confidential, was assaulted while walking on Soi Yensabai in South Pattaya with his friend. The incident took place at night on an unspecified recent evening in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province.

According to a CCTV recording, the victim was walking in the alley with his friend when a group of teenagers on two motorbikes drove by and struck the victim with a long stick before calmly leaving the scene. It appeared that the attackers assaulted the victim for no reason, as the man was simply walking by them based on a recording.

A Thai business owner in the area named Ms. Joy, 36, whose real name was withheld for her safety, reported that she assisted the victim, who had suffered bruises on his arm and the side of his stomach. The victim did not report the incident to Pattaya police because he said he did not want any problems in Thailand and was afraid of possible repercussions.

Ms. Joy went on to say that this particular group of rowdy youngsters typically rode motorbikes in the alley and struck random tourists passing by them for no reason. On the day of the latest incident, the victim was attacked in front of her shop, and her surveillance camera captured the entire incident.

The shop owner revealed that the teenagers, some of whom looked as young as primary school students, usually disappeared for about 2-3 days after committing the attack, only to return and cause trouble again.

She said although the tourist did not file an official complaint with the police, other local residents and business owners have already notified the police, urging authorities to capture the suspects as soon as possible because they were greatly harming the tourism image of Pattaya City.
