At the accident scene, Sattahip emergency responders found a rescue vehicle and an Isuzu D-Max pickup truck on the road. Inside the rescue vehicle, they rescued 31-year-old Phongphat Phanplae, a rescue worker, and his two-year-old daughter.

Mr. Phongphat was unharmed, but his daughter suffered minor injuries. In the pickup truck, rescuers also found another slightly injured person, identified as 33-year-old Parinya Prabnasak. The girl and Parinya received initial medical aid before the girl was sent to a nearby hospital for further examination.

According to Mr. Phongphat, the father of the girl, he noticed Mr. Parinya driving at high speed. Parinya then lost control and ended up colliding with Phongphat’s car, injuring his daughter.

Upon police inspection of Mr. Parinya’s vehicle, they also found a police officer’s reflective vest with the words “Taling Chan Police Station”. Mr. Parinya was subsequently taken to a nearby Sattahip police station where the breathalyzer test revealed that he had an alcohol level of 0.84%, which exceeded the legal limit. He was charged with drunk driving.

It was unclear if Parinya was a police officer or volunteer in any capacity and an explanation for the vest was not made immediately.
