Pattaya Boat Skipper Passes Away Onboard Amid Suspected Health Emergency

Pattaya —

The captain of a diving boat in Pattaya tragically passed away while the vessel was moored near Bali Hai Pier Sunday evening, September 25th.

Pattaya Police and Sawang Boriboon rescue workers rushed to the pier at 03:30 PM to jointly examine the body of a Thai captain who died aboard a boat.

The authorities found a diver, only identified as Ms. Phonratchanee, waiting at the scene and she then led the authorities to the body on the second floor of the boat. The victim was identified as Mr. Bunmee Manadee, 53, the boat’s captain. He was discovered lying on the floor wearing only trousers. Beside him were his family, Mrs. Sawong Manadee, 51, along with his young daughter and son, all grieving over his passing.

Authorities examined the body and found no signs of foul play. Consequently, the deceased was handed over to Banglamung Hospital for a post mortem examination.

In an interview with The Pattaya News, Mrs. Sawong mentioned that her husband had pre-existing heart disease, which could be the cause of his sudden demise. She usually visited him after he finished work but was shocked to find he had passed away on the boat.

In another tragic report, a woman was killed and an unidentified foreign man was missing after they were struck by a speedboat while swimming off of Koh Larn last night, September 25th, 2023 at sunset.

The woman suffered fatal cuts, suspected to be propeller marks, around her body. Police are hunting down the speedboat diver responsible for the incident, while a search team is looking for the foreign man.
