Pattaya Police Shut Down Nightclub Allegedly Operating Illegally

Pattaya – At 3:30 A.M. on September 23rd, 2023, Pol. Col. Thanaphong Phothi, the superintendent of the Pattaya police station and other relevant officials initiated an inspection of entertainment districts in Pattaya city.

Their main missions were to deter illegal activities: Violating the prescribed legal opening hours of midnight to 2AM depending on the location of the venue, illegal drug use, and allowing individuals under the age of 20 to access the services of an entertainment venue.

The police squad launched an inspection of the “Catwalk” club, located on Chaloem Phrakiat 29, Pattaya, and found about 50 visitors and employees in total. They were sorted into groups, ID cards were checked, and everyone was tested for illegal drugs. There were 5 employees who tested positive for illicit substances according to Pattaya police, also, a suspicious white powder in a container was found on the scene as evidence.

On the initial investigation, the “Catwalk” Club had no permission to operate the business and no alcohol license said Pol. Col. Thanaphong Phothi. An unidentified owner of the establishment was also held in custody for further legal proceedings.
