Now for our update:
On Wednesday, September 20th, Pol. Lt. Gen. Itthiphon Itthisanronnachai, Commander of Provincial Police Region 2, held a press conference to announce the successful apprehension of a fugitive involved in the November 2022 robbery at the Aurora Gold Shop in South Pattaya.

The operation to arrest Sunthorn took months, as he appeared to have meticulously planned his escape, said Pol. Lt. Gen. Itthiphon.
The Thai man abandoned his getaway vehicle after fleeing the shop. A 50,000-baht bounty was subsequently placed on him by the police; however, he managed to evade the authorities’ radar for months and somehow found refuge in South Korea.

Nevertheless, Sunthorn was finally found and arrested. The arrest operation was a collaborative effort between Thai police and Interpol in South Korea. The man was in the process of being extradited back to Thailand to face legal consequences.
