Meteorological Dept Forecasts Heavy Rainfall Until Tuesday

PRESS RELEASE:

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has forecast heavy rain to continue in most parts of Thailand until Tuesday (25 July), and warned the public to beware of flash floods and overflows.

The department said the monsoon trough, which covers most regions of Thailand, will cause downpours to the Northeast and East, as well as the West coast in the Southern region of the country. The situation is expected to improve as the trough moves to other countries in the region on Wednesday (26 July) or Thursday (27 July).

The TMD has also issued a warning for severe weather conditions that could lead to flash floods and overflows, particularly along waterways and low-lying areas. Residents are advised to exercise caution and stay vigilant during storms. Drivers should also take extra care on the roads to ensure their safety and the safety of others.

In addition to heavy rainfall, the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf are expected to face strong winds and thunderstorms. Owners of small boats in these areas are urged to remain onshore during this period and stay informed on the latest weather forecasts.
