Heavy Rain Forecast in Most Regions of Thailand

National —

The Meteorological Department is warning of heavy rain in most regions of the country due to tropical storm Talim.

The department expects heavy rainfall in the eastern upper region, eastern region, and western coast of the southern region, due to a strong monsoon trough from July 16th to 20th. Flash floods and runoff are possible in low-lying and steep areas.

Another southwestern monsoon is expected to bring high waves in the upper part of the Andaman Sea and the upper and lower Gulf of Thailand. Boat operators are advised to exercise caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the tropical storm Talim is currently intensifying in the southern part of the South China Sea and is moving slightly northwestward. It is expected to pass near Hainan Island and cause rainfall on the upper part of Vietnam on July 18th to 19th.
