Fire Burns Down Retired Teacher’s House Near Pattaya

Pattaya —

A massive fire destroyed the home of a retired Thai teacher near Pattaya yesterday, June 17th.

The firefighters took over one hour to control the blaze. The fire was reported at a largely wooden house, situated in the Takhian Tia sub-district of Banglamung district, Chonburi province, at 6:30 PM yesterday, June 17th, by the house owner, Mr. Attha Pornchaiwatakorn, 61.

Attha was a retired teacher. He told The Pattaya News that flames suddenly erupted inside his house for unknown reasons. The fire spread so quickly that he could not control it by himself, so he had to call the authorities. The house was completely burned down though nobody was injured, according to firefighters.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
