One Person Severely Injured in Early Morning Car Accident in Pattaya

Banglamung –

An unidentified male driver has sustained severe injuries after he crashed his sedan into a trailer truck in Banglamung this morning.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident after midnight (June 17th) on Number 36 Road (Bypass Rayong Road) in the Nong Plalai sub-district.

They and the Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find the sedan in question embedded into the back of a trailer truck on the road. Inside the sedan rescue teams found an unidentified injured Thai man aged around 50. He had sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

The truck driver, Mr. Jirasak Saenawong, 48, was waiting at the scene for authorities. He told the Pattaya News that he was driving in the left lane before the sedan driver crashed into the rear of his vehicle.

A witness, Mr. Chakorn Ketthong, 29, told the Pattaya News that he was riding a motorbike behind the sedan driver before the accident. The sedan was swaying on the road and Mr. Chakorn yelled at the sedan driver through his partially lowered window if he was drunk. The sedan driver reportedly said yes and shortly after that crashed into the truck.

The sedan driver remains at a local hospital where police are attempting to identify him.
