More than 1,000 unlicensed and counterfeit Care Bears that are worth almost a million baht were seized at the Sampeng Market.
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) reported this week that they raided several doll shops at the Sampeng Market in Bangkok. The raid came after many doll shops in Sampeng Market were advertising their products via social media. Many shops were found with unlicensed Care Bears.
Shop owners were arrested for illegal possession or importing of unlicensed products with no Thai Industrial Standard (TIS) label. More than 1,000 unlicensed Care Bears were seized, worth more than 900,000 baht.
The Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD) have warned sellers who are selling products that they must check if those products have a TIS label. The TIS label can be checked at www.tisi.go.th.
If anyone notices any unlicensed products, please report to the CPPD hotline at 1135.
