Thailand’s Win Over Afghanistan in AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup Keeps Hopes for Moving On Alive

Jomtien Beach-

A rowdy capacity crowd cheered on Thailand last night, March 18th, 2023, as Thailand beat Afghanistan in a thrilling close game 5-4.

Thailand had lost their opening game against Saudi Arabia earlier in the week and as a result this was a must win situation.

Luckily, that’s exactly what happened as Thailand managed to squeak by Afghanistan and face Bahrain in what will be a tough game on Monday, March 20th, at 830 PM.

The top three performing teams in the cup move on to the FIFA World Beach Soccer Cup.

Games are being played at a specially built stadium on Jomtien Beach near Soi 12. Admission is free but seating is limited and is a first come and first serve situation. With Thailand winning against Afghanistan another capacity crowd is expected on Monday night so if you plan to attend be early.

If Thailand beats Bahrain, they are nearly certain to move on to the knockout round.
