Ferries resume operation in Koh Samui after two days of weather-related suspensions

Samui —

Ferries have resumed normal operations after a 2-day suspension due to strong winds and waves in the Gulf of Thailand, according to Surat Thani’s governor.

At 5:30 AM today, December 20th, local media reported the ferry services in Koh Samui in the Ang Thong subdistrict have re-opened again after being suspended for two days.

There have been a large number of cars queuing to board the C-Transfer Company’s ferries to the mainland at the ticket sales point, causing a queue that stretched over 2 kilometers on the road of traffic.

Passengers were nationally diverse and some arrived before dawn.

The ferry service provider has adjusted the ferry schedule to accommodate stranded passengers.

Normally, ferries depart from the pier every hour, but today they have been adjusted to depart every half hour. This is to expedite the flow of passengers, cars, and agricultural produce trucks. The last ferry of the day will depart at 7:30 PM, according to local media. The first trip commences at 4:30 AM. C-Transfer Company said it is willing to stop the services if weather conditions turn adverse.
