Pattaya —

A marquee has been reinstalled at Bali Hai Pier by Pattaya officials after several tourists reportedly complained about having to wait in the sun for too long to get to Koh Larn.

Following tourists’ complaints about the shadeless waiting spot at Bali Hai Pier due to the removal of a marquee during the last four-day-long weekend, Wuthisak Rermkijakarn, Pattaya deputy mayor, came out today, August 2nd, to apologize for the inconvenience and answer the doubts about the marquee removal.

According to him, the marquee, which many said was removed for no reason, belonged to a private operator in Pattaya, and the operator was actually the one deciding to remove the marquee because it was too tattered and might endanger tourists.

However, Wuthisak stated that Pattaya officials acknowledged the complaints and had reinstalled a new marquee at Bali Hai Pier as a temporary solution before a new, permanent roof would be constructed in the future. “Pattaya City has never ignored complaints and is always ready to serve visitors,” Pattaya deputy mayor stated.
