Pattaya —
Several floods and damage was reported in Pattaya after a sudden downpour overnight.
The Pattaya News reporters on the ground spotted several floods across the city early this morning, June 21st, after Pattaya was hit by a heavy downpour around 1:00 A.M. The flooding in some alleys, according to our reporters and locals, submerged up to half of a car door as seen in the picture below.

Sukhumvit Road and many others were also under water, which badly interrupted traffic for motorbikes, and water also permeated into roadside houses, according to our reporters.
The affected areas were roughly South Pattaya, Central Pattaya, Soi Siam Country Club Pattaya, Soi Buakhao, and Pattaya Third Road. A widespread power outage was also reported, especially in parts of Jomtien.

According to reports this morning, several vehicles parked closed to tall buildings in Central Pattaya were damaged from falling glass panels knocked out by gusting winds.

It was also reported that numerous Pattaya residents, both locals and tourists, reproached the new mayor for what they called his “inactive approach” to the flood. One comment on Facebook ridiculed, “I thought all the holes in the road would help store the water”.
As of press time, the new Pattaya mayor Poramese “Beer” Ngampiches still has not responsded to this hectic incident but has made resolving flooding one of his first priorities.
