Chonburi announces 1,390 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 and one new death

Highlights:

  • 1,390 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Chonburi today

  • 5,378 positive ATK (rapid antigen) tests were reported but all require a second confirmed PCR test before being counted as official cases. The ATK positive tests are just “possible” cases until confirmed by PCR. TPN notes, however, that second confirmed tests are no longer mandatory except for high-risk groups.
  • 1,227 (PCR) and 4,130 (ATK) recovered and were released from medical care
  • One new death

The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced 1,390 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 today with one new death, March 28th, 2022.

This makes a total of 73,401 cases (PCR) and 134,251 cases (ATK) of Covid-19 in the current round of infections, with 12,787 (PCR) and 55,400 (ATK) people still under medical care/supervision, and with a total of 129 recorded deaths in Chonburi since the start of this recent round of infections at the beginning of this year, January 2022.

Additionally, 1,277 (PCR) and 4,130 (ATK) people were also released and recovered yesterday in Chonburi. 60,438 (PCR) and 78,851 (ATK) people in total have now been released from medical care and recovered in Chonburi since this current wave of Covid-19 began at the beginning of this year, January 2022.
The one new death was aged 86 with severe personal health problems and pre-existing conditions. The person was not vaccinated.
In total, 2,036,164 people in Pattaya and Chonburi have received their first dose of a Covid -19 vaccine which is 87.42 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 306,817 have received their first dose and are what the Thai government calls 608 groups (elders, have chronic health problems, and pregnant) which is 82.94 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.
928,959 people have received their triple dose which is 39.89 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 161,787 are 608 groups which are 43.73 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.

The district-level new cases were as follows today:

Mueang Chonburi 188, Si Racha 516, Banglamung (Pattaya) 329, Panat Nikhom 19, Sattahip 67, Ban Bueng 113, Phan Thong 50, ฺBor Thong 6, Ko Chan 4, Nong Yai 3, Ko Si Chang 1, and 84 people transferred from other provinces for medical care
The details on the cases are as follows:
  1. Work and stayed in Rayong, transferred from other provinces for medical care, 70 cases
  2. Cluster, Thai NOK company in Mueang Chonburi, 11 cases
  3. Cluster, AGC Automotive company in Mueang Chonburi, 5 cases
  4. Cluster, Toyota Gosei company in Phan Thong, 7 cases
  5. Risky occupations meeting many people, 19 cases
  6. 41 medical personnel
  7. 3 Back from other provinces in Chiang Mai, Samur Songkram and Nakhon Ratchasima
  8. Close contacts from previously confirmed cases in families – 325 cases, in workplaces –61 cases, close personal contacts – 73 cases, and joined a party – 1 case
  9. Close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation), 34 cases
  10. 740 cases of close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation)
