Latest update:

The Pattaya City Police yesterday (March 1st) arrested the suspect Mr. Niwat Kaewbang, 42, at a rental room in Soi Sukhumvit 56. Niwat was reportedly extremely drunk during the arrest and could barely stand.

Niwat admitted nonchalantly to the Banglamung police, “I was drunk when I saw the somtam vendor and noticed their necklace. I followed the vendor before snatching the gold necklace. I sold the gold necklace at a department store for 6,000 baht. I used all the money within only two days to buy alcohol and drugs. It was worth it to me.”

The Pattaya City Police told The Pattaya News team, “Niwat is facing charges of theft and using illegal drugs. Please beware during this time, there are many thieves still due to difficulties with the economy still locally.”
