Chonburi announces 811 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 and one new death

Highlights:

  • 811 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Chonburi today

  • 709 positive ATK tests were reported but all require a second confirmed PCR test before being counted as official cases. The ATK positive tests are just “possible” cases until confirmed by PCR.

  • 608 people recovered and were released from medical care

  • One new death

The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced 811 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 today with one new death, February 18th, 2022.

This makes a total of 28,805 cases of Covid-19 in the current round of infections, with 7,334 people still under medical care/supervision, and with a total of 38 recorded deaths in Chonburi since the start of this recent round of infections at the beginning of this year, January 2022.

Additionally, 608 people were also released and recovered yesterday in Chonburi. 21,126 people in total have now been released from medical care and recovered in Chonburi since this current wave of Covid-19 began at the beginning of this year, January 2022.
One person was listed as being in serious condition in Chonburi currently, either on a ventilator or pneumonia. The person was not vaccinated. According to the Chonburi Department of Public Health, the vast majority of recent cases are mild or asymptomatic.
The one new death was at the age of 77 with personal health problems and pre-existing conditions. The person received double doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
In total, 1,963,171 people in Pattaya and Chonburi have received their first dose of a Covid -19 vaccine which is 84.29 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 303,290 have received their first dose and are what the Thai government calls 608 groups (elders, have chronic health problems, and pregnant) which is 81.98 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.
729,615 people have received their triple dose which is 31.33 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 125,452 are 608 groups which is 33.91 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.

The district-level new cases were as follows today:

Mueang Chonburi 155, Si Racha 266, Banglamung (Pattaya) 148, Panat Nikhom 32, Sattahip 44, Ban Bueng 29, Phan Thong 38, ฺBor Thong 3, Ko Chan 2, Nong Yai 1, and 93 people transferred from other provinces for medical care.

The details on the cases are as follows:

  1. Work and stayed in Rayong, transferred from other provinces for medical care, 84 cases
  2. Cluster, Essilor Optical Laboratory company (Staffers joined a party in another province) in Phan Thong, 6 cases
  3. Cluster Shopee Express company in Si Racha, 7 cases
  4. Cluster, Si Racha Construction company in Si Racha, 4 cases
  5. Cluster, Top Link Industrial company in Si Racha, 3 cases
  6. Cluster, Fujitsu General (Thailand) company in Si Racha, 3 cases
  7. Risky occupations meeting many people, 23 cases
  8. 7 medical personnel
  9. 12 back from other provinces from Bangkok (6), Ubon Ratchathani (2), Chachoengsao (1), Chaiyaphum (1), Lopburi (1), Samut Prakan (1)
  10.  Close contacts from previously confirmed cases in families – 187 cases, in workplaces –88 cases, close personal contacts – 66 cases, and joined a party – 7 cases
  11. Close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation), 30 cases
  12. 284  cases close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation)
