Chonburi –

Three people have sustained injuries after a pickup truck driver crashed into a grocery store in the Bor Thong district.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident earlier this week at an intersection on Nong Samet – Bor Thong Road.

They arrived at the scene to find a damaged white pickup truck that had crashed directly into a grocery store, damaging a significant amount of merchandise.

The pickup truck driver was identified by rescue workers as Mr. Kraiwit Pimnuan, 20, and had sustained minor injuries. His passengers were identified as Mr. Kornkrit Weerapat, 42, and his minor son who also sustained light injuries. They were taken to a local hospital for a routine check-up.

Kraiwit told TPN media reporters at the scene, “Mr. Korkrit was falling asleep before he asked me to drive. I was driving the pickup truck at high speed and I admit I was not familiar with the road nor the vehicle.”

Bor Thong law enforcement authorities are partnering with the grocery store owner to discuss compensation and/or legal charges regarding the incident.
