Angry intoxicated man deliberately crashes his pickup truck into a restaurant in Chonburi after a fit of jealousy involving his wife

Chonburi –

An intoxicated man deliberately crashed his pickup truck into a restaurant after a fit of jealousy involving his wife, who works at the eatery, in the Mueang Chonburi district.

The Saensuk Police was notified of the incident at a restaurant on Sukhumvit Road in the Saensuk sub-district earlier this week.

They arrived at the restaurant to find the damaged pickup truck crashed head-on into the restaurant. The driver was not found at the scene.

Ms. Namkang Maneein, 34, who lives nearby, told TPN media, “The pickup truck driver deliberately crashed into the restaurant many times. The driver, who appeared to be extremely intoxicated, sped away with another vehicle before police arrived.”

The driver was later identified and arrested by Saensuk police as Mr. Aroonsri Thongkaeo, 43. He told police, “My wife works at the restaurant. She asked me for permission to go out for a day trip and team building exercise with the restaurant owner and other staffers and I said yes. However, she did not come back home at night and I was unable to contact her. I love her very much. I got very drunk before I decided to crash my pickup truck into the restaurant out of anger.”

Police are continuing their investigation for further legal action. It was unclear where the wife of the suspect had been and all sides involved had no comment on this question.
