Pickup truck driver crashes into grocery store in Chonburi, blames wet road

Chonburi –

A pickup truck driver blamed the wet road after he crashed his pickup truck into a grocery store and a power pole in the Phan Thong district.

The Phan Thong Police was notified of the accident on the Phan Thong – Baan Rongna Road in the Phan Thong sub-district. Police arrived at the scene to find the damaged pickup truck, the power pole and the grocery store.

The pickup truck driver, Mr. Wern Maha, 35, who had sustained minor injuries, told TPN reporters, “It was raining heavily. I tried to overtake another vehicle but lost control on the wet road before crashing into the power pole and the grocery. However, the issue was the road being too wet not my driving.”

The grocery owner, Mr. Pattaranit Settahiran, 54, told TPN media, “I was in front of the grocery when the pickup truck crashed, luckily, I was not injured.”

Police are continuing their investigation for further potential legal action.
