One injured in two trailer truck collision in Banglamung

Banglamung –

A 47-year-old male driver suffered moderate leg injuries after two trailer trucks collided in Banglamung this morning (September 30th).

Emergency responders were notified of the accident at 11:00 A.M. on Bypass 36 Road in the Pong sub-district.

They and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find both trailer trucks that had collided with each other, causing traffic to be backed up for a significant distance on the Bypass road.

The injured driver, Mr. Kacha Boonkamon, 47, was stuck inside the cab of his truck. Rescue worker used a jaw of life to free him out in about ten minutes. He had sustained injuries on both legs and was taken to a local hospital for medical assistance.

Kacha told Pattaya News reporters, “The other trailer truck immediately changed their lane. I tried to slow down but there was a sedan on the left lane and I was unable to swerve or avoid the collision.”

The other truck driver, Mr. Suwan Thanonwong, 51, who was not injured, told The Pattaya News, “I was coming from Rayong heading to Chonburi. I was changing to the right lane when the other trailer truck which seemed to have a brake failure crashed into the back of my truck.”

Banglamung police, aware that both drivers were blaming the other for the accident, are inspecting CCTV and gathering witness statements before making a final determination for liability purposes. Kacha remained at a hospital as of press time getting treatment for his injured legs but is expected to fully recover.
