RECAP: Thailand announces 11,975 new cases of Covid -19 and 127 additional deaths

Thailand reported 11,864 new domestic cases of Covid-19 with 92 confirmed cases at prisons as well as 19 imported cases, marking a total of 11,975 daily infections, with 127 additional deaths in the past 24 hours.

This makes a total of 1,520,422 cases of Covid-19 since the start of this recent round of infections in early April in Thailand.

Additionally, 1,381,176 people in total have now been released from medical care and fully recovered since this current wave began. 14,700 people were released yesterday. The chart below shows the total cases and recoveries since the original outbreak last year.

Among 11,864 local new domestic cases, excluding the cases in the prisons, the highest number of infections listed by provinces was discovered in Bangkok with 2,123, Chonburi with 744, Samut Prakan with 738, Yala with 632, and Rayong with 454.

The fatalities were 69 men and 58 women ( 124 Thais, 1 Myanmar nationals, and  1 Cambodian) aged between 17-98.

23 of them reportedly have chronic health problems. 7 of them did not reportedly have any health conditions.

Thailand had 47,296,431 doses of total vaccines given, with the total first jabs at 29,998,440 doses, a total of 16,673,867 second doses, and a total of 624,124 third doses. Yesterday, the new vaccines given are still under the calculation as the total vaccines given yesterday were more than one million doses. This is, regardless, a daily record in vaccines for Thailand.

The Department of Disease Control is targeting to vaccinate one million doses of Covid-19 per day starting from this Friday, September 24th.
