Thailand discovered a total of 13,576 daily Covid-19 infections with 117 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, September 19th.
The fatalities were 72 men and 45 women with the most numbers recorded in Bangkok with 22. Of that, 114 were Thai nationals, two were Myanmar nationals, and one was an Indian national. The age range was between 34 and 94 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (64), diabetes (38), hyperlipidemia (25), obesity (25), and kidney disease (18). One of the fatalities was a bedridden patient.
Of the new cases, 12,048 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 1,120 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 395 were from prisons, and the remaining 13 were imported cases.
A number of 131,095 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 3,646 patients are in critical condition including 768 on ventilators. This is roughly 2.78 percent of cases that are critical while 21 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 2,880, followed by Samut Prakan with 1,030, Chonburi with 935, Yala with 492, Ratchaburi with 483, and Songkhla with 444.
A total number of 596,230 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 281,812 people had received their first shots, 313,636 people had received their second shots, and 782 people had received their third shots.
As of today, 12,492 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 1,476,477 cases with 1,330,019 recoveries and a total of 15,363 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
