RECAP: Thailand announces 17,984 new cases of Covid -19 and 292 additional deaths-new record in daily vaccinations!

Thailand reported 17,977 new domestic cases of Covid-19 with 324 confirmed cases at prisons as well as 7 imported cases, marking a total of 17,984 daily infections, with 292 additional deaths in the past 24 hours.

This makes a total of 1,128,692 cases of Covid-19 since the start of this recent round of infections in early April in Thailand.

Additionally, 936,893 people in total have now been released from medical care and fully recovered since this current wave began. 20,535 people were released yesterday. The chart below shows the total cases and recoveries since the original outbreak last year.

Among 21,813 local new domestic cases, excluding the cases in the prisons, the highest number of infections listed by provinces was discovered in Bangkok with 4,141, Samut Sakorn with 1,432, Chonburi with 972, Samut Sakorn with 910 and Nakhon Ratchasima with 566.

The fatalities were 157 men and 135 women (287 Thai, 2 Myanmars, 2 Cambodians, and 1 Chinese) aged between 24-100.

Sixty of them reportedly have chronic health problems while 23 of them did not reportedly have any health conditions. Ten of them were confirmed with Covid -19 after being pronouced dead originally from other causes, according to the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration, or CCSA.

A total of 26,016,086 doses of Covid-19 vaccines in Thailand have been given so far with 19,629,553 total first doses given, 5,788,969 total second doses, and 597,564 total third doses. 10.82 percent of the population is fully vaccinated against Covid-19

Thailand had a record-breaking 915,738 vaccines given yesterday, with 547,128 first jabs, 361,284 second doses, and 7,326 third doses.
