Chonburi –

A young man has broken both legs after he fell from the roof of the 5th floor at a gold shop in the Phan Thong District.

The Phan Thong Police were notified of the incident at 5:00 P.M. at a gold shop and attached housing in the Baan Gao sub-district on Sunday, August 22nd, 2021.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the injured young man, Mr. Kittipoom Kenjan, 19, lying injured on an awning that had broken his fall.

He had broken both legs and was stuck between the gold shop and a barrier wall. Rescue workers had to drop down with a sling from a window to help the injured man. It took over two hours to move him out to a local hospital, which was well after dark.

Ms. Katereeya Treenuwat, the gold shop owner, told associated local news, “I heard something falling and a crash while I was cooking dinner. At first I thought it was just a roof tile falling, which has happened before, so I continued cooking in the kitchen behind the gold shop.”

“I later realized that someone was in the house due to moans of pain. I discovered that he was someone that I don’t know and I had no idea why he was there. I called police for assistance once I discovered him stuck behind the shop.” Katereeya concluded.

Phan Thong police are continuing their investigation to find out why the man was at the gold shop at night time. Kittipoom would not answer any questions as to why he was on the roof of a gold shop and remained at a local hospital under police watch as of press time.
