A 60-year-old driver has been pronounced dead at the scene and twenty new motorbikes have been damaged after he crashed his pickup truck into a motorbike shop in Si Racha over the weekend.
The Borwin Police was notified of the accident on Friday (August 6th) on Number 331 Road in Borwin.
They and The Pattaya News team arrived at the scene to find a silver pickup truck that had crashed into the motorbike shop, with a row of display motorbikes that had been damaged scattered about the vicinity.
Inside the pickup truck, Borwin Police found the body of the driver Mr. Kajornkiet Ngamsaard, 60, from Bangkok. It was initially unclear if he had died instantly upon impact or suffered a medical emergency prior to the accident.
Twenty new motorbikes at the shop were damaged. The motorbike shop owner, whose name was not given to the press, stated that the cost of damages is estimated at about one million and five hundred thousand baht.
At this stage, Borwin police believed that the driver might have fallen asleep at the wheel or had a heart attack. The exact cause of death is still investigation by law enforcement.
