Chonburi announces 1,325 new and confirmed cases of Covid -19 with one new death

The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced a very slight rise of Covid-19 cases to 1,325 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 today with one new death.

This makes a total of 33,444 cases of Covid-19 in the current round of infections, with 16,356 still under medical care/supervision, and with a total of 156 recorded deaths in Chonburi since the start of this recent round of infections in early April. The details on yesterday’s one new death was not given, which is standard for the health department.

Additionally, 727 people were also released and recovered yesterday in Chonburi. 16,932 people in total have now been released from medical care and recovered in Chonburi since this current wave began.

The district-level new cases were as follows today:

Mueang Chonburi 353, Si Racha 301, Banglamung (Pattaya) 223, Panat Nikhom 67, Sattahip 55, Ban Bueang 121, Pan Thong 112, Bor Thong 15, Ko Chan 16, Nong Yai 12, and 50 new cases transferred from other provinces for medical care.

The details on the cases are as follows:

  1. Cluster, Damoa Electronics (Thailand) Co.,Ltd in Si Racha, 43 cases
  2. Cluster, Excellent Manufacturing.Co., Ltd. in Ban Bueng, 15 cases
  3. Cluster, Thai NOK, Mueang Chonburi, 17 cases
  4. Cluster, Mitsubishi Electronic Consumer Products (Thailand) Co., Ltd. 11 cases
  5. Cluster, Amagasaki Pipe (Thailand) Co., Ltd. Ltd. in Mueang Chonburi, 5 cases
  6. 34 ,medical staff
  7. A risky occupation, meeting a lot of people-30 cases
  8. Many enterprises in Rayong province, 20 cases
  9. Provided a history of traveling to Bangkok – 4 cases and Nonthaburi – 1 case
  10. Close contacts of confirmed patients, in families – 308 cases, in workplaces – 103 cases, close friends, 20 cases, and parties- 4 cases
  11. Close contacts of confirmed patients (under investigation), 364 cases
  12. 346 cases are under investigation in general

There are currently, in Chonburi, clusters of Covid-19 at 21 establishments and five markets, 10 construction worker camps, and four communities. TPN media notes that this cluster information appears to be outdated but is what was provided by authorities.

The Chonburi Governor, Phakkhrathon Thianchai, has announced last night (August 5th) the temporary closure of a company, worker camps, construction sites and dormitory in Si Racha and Pan Thong.
