The Installation ceremony of the new club president of the Rotary Club of Pattaya and his board of directors took place on Saturday the 31st of July 2021 at the office of president Niels Colov, as Covid-19 regulations currently in effect in Chonburi only permitted an in-person gathering of a maximum of 5 people.
The following people attended: Rotary District 3340 Governor Jareesri “Jessie” Kunsiripunyo, Outgoing club President Boonseub Ekara, President-Elect Lasse Rasmussen, Incoming President Neils Colov, and Club Administration Director Ron Cartey.
The plan for the new Rotary year 2021-2022 was explained by president Niels Colov: involvement of ALL members in meaningful community and charity projects, expansion of the membership to 40-50 members, involvement of our members in the Rotary International Recreational and Vocational Fellowships, the establishment of Sister Clubs (the first being the Rotary Club of Kohchang), support to the Rotary Foundation, and most importantly create a strong foundation of the club for years to come with creative leaders and active and kindhearted members.
Although Covid-19 has certainly caused major disruption to the Pattaya area, the Rotary Club of Pattaya continues to meet online via Zoom bi-weekly and members continue to be active in both planning and executing community events while ensuring they follow Covid-19 guidelines and measures.
