Si Racha –
A young driver has been pronounced dead at the scene after he crashed his motorbike into a trailer truck in Si Racha just before this weekend.
The Borwin Police was notified of the accident in the morning late last week on the Marb Eiang – Amata City Road in Borwin.
Emergency responders and Associated Thai media reporters arrived at the scene to find a motorbike plunged into the back of a trailer truck on the left-hand side of the road.
The truck driver, Mr. Winai Sawangdee, 27, was waiting at the scene for police and first responders. He was uninjured.
A significant distance away from the scene emergency responders found the body of the motorbike driver who was identified as Mr. Sakda Pimsaree, 23 from Loei in the northeast of Thailand. Borwin police stated to the press that speed appeared to be a major factor, throwing Sakda many meters away from the accident. Mr. Sakda was believed to have died on impact with the truck.
Winai told Borwin police and associated press “I heard a loud noise which at first I thought was a tire explosion. When I stopped my truck to examine if I had blown a tire I tragically discovered the motorbike embedded in the back of my vehicle. I did not immediately see the driver, who had been thrown from the accident some distance away. I called emergency services and stayed by the scene of the accident until they arrived. They later found the victim some distance away.”
Borwin police are continuing their investigation, stating to the press there were no immediate witnesses that came forward regarding the accident.
