Pattaya, Thailand –
The Pattaya City Mayor has personally wished Thai sailors success at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in several weeks. The team reportedly includes some Pattaya area residents.
The group of sailors visited the Pattaya City Mayor Sonthaya Khunploem just before this weekend for the Pattaya Mayor to wish them luck at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. They will join in the games from July 23rd to August 8th. The team reportedly has members from the local Pattaya area.
Mr. Sonthaya told the athletes, “You are good models for other teenagers and Thai people to be part of the Olympic Games.”
“We (Thailand) are proud of you all. We hope you all do your best for yourself and for Thailand. Pattaya is rooting for you!” The Mayor concluded.
The Pattaya City Mayor and local business operators also gave cash to support the athletes while they are preparing for the competition. The amount, however, was not disclosed to the press.
The athletes also worshiped King Taksin the Great Monument at Pattaya City Hall for their luck before their journey on July 12th, tomorrow morning, to Tokyo.
The Pattaya News wishes them good luck on their Olympic journey!
